Futures
People said that fairy tales never come true. However, since the day I’ve won the lottery, my life is beginning to become an actual fairy tale. I am Emily, a twenty years old girl. I will be using the money I have won from the lottery to build an I.G.M – Idea Generate Machine. This machine will be able to generate and create high-quality ideas for different groups of people. The ideas will be original and unique so that no ideas will overlap. After 2 years of hard work, I will be nominated for the Nobel Prize because of inventing the most technological advanced machine. Also, I will have become one of the top ten richest people in Asia. Not only will I have a glorious career, I will also have a fairy-tale like wedding with my prince charming. The wedding, of course, will be covered with pink flowers, pink candles, pink drapes, pink table cloths, pink carpet…. Everything pink! I will be wearing my Jill Stuart pink wedding dress and eating my scrumptious pink wedding cake. I will be inviting my close friends and my family members to the weddingand they will be served with pink cocktails. They will be sharing and witnessing the happiness of my wedding. For me? I will be inventing more machines and obviously, I will be living with my prince charming happily ever after.
Fairy tales never come true. However, some dreams do. Since when I was young, my dream is to become a psychologist. I will be getting a psychology diploma after 3 years of hard work. As I do not have the need to actually earn money for my living, I will choose a low payment job as a school psychologist as I wish to help little kids through it. I will have met my prince charming in the school I’m working in, and we will have a vintage wedding. I will be inviting all the kids from the school, giving us the perfect bliss. Moreover, I will be wearing the white wedding dress I have bought when I was eighteen. I might not be the richest person in the world, but I will be having a job that I enjoy and a wonderful family. That is already enough.
There is a huge difference between my realistic future and my romantic future. In my realistic future, I will become a psychologist. However, in my romantic future, I will become an inventor who has won the Nobel Prize. Looking at both my futures, I realized that I really look forward to my wedding. Perhaps it’s due to my mother’s incomplete marriage that I want a beautiful marriage myself. Another thing is that I don’t think the invention of I.G.M will succeed in the next 10 years, but it might possibly happen after 60 years. Although I will be happy if I could win the lottery and become a rich person, I think the realistic life is what I really want. I was born in a family with no real worries, no financial problems, and could even be considered as rich. Therefore, I don’t need all those dramas in my life, I only have to focus on my academic studies and try my best to achieve my dream, this is the future I wish for.
I don’t know whether fairy tales will come true, but there’s one thing I am sure; nothing will come true if I don’t work hard and strive for my goals.
